What
Sets Us Apart From the Rest
One
of the most frequently asked questions posed to us by prospective
clients is: "What sets you apart from the rest?"
If they have enough time, I can detail the many aspects
about what we do and why it creates a better atmosphere.
For the purposes of this article, I will break down the
details into categories. The comparisons are based on my
personal knowledge of many other DJs as well as many events
I have attended as a guest.
Equipment
Not very many people ask about this, but it is very important
to an enjoyable evening. It has been pretty much assumed
that if a DJ claims to be a professional, they will have
professional equipment. However, almost all DJs I have encountered
have either outdated, old, or sub-par equipment. While they
still can crank it loud, it won't sound very good. A bad
system playing loud will hurt your ears after a while, and
their microphone will cut in and out during your important
speeches or toasts. Ultimately, their equipment may fail
entirely and if they do have back-up equipment, chances
are it is worse than the first set.
Full
Capacity DJs continually upgrades our sound system to maintain
perfect sound. Our entire lineup of speakers was upgraded
in late 2003, as well as our mixers, wiring, and microphones.
The equipment it replaced was, and still is, in perfect
working order and travels with us as a backup. There is
no loss of quality should something happen to our main setup.
Also, the music will sound better and more like "live"
performances than a recording. Your ears will not hurt and
everyone will have a more enjoyable time. The quality of
the speakers, amplifier, and wiring also means all announcing
will be heard clearly by all guests, with a deep rich sound.
We also travel with three sets of top quality microphones
to ensure you will never have to deal with a wireless microphone
"reception" problem.
Entertainment
Most DJs stand behind their table and simply spin music.
Some talk excessively to give the appearance they are working
hard, when in reality they are disrupting the flow of the
event. Some over-do it by forcing guests to do things they
don't want to. Full Capacity DJs works in the finest balance
of professionalism and entertainment customized to each
party. Based on the direction of the client as well as the
guests at the event, our style will be adjusted accordingly.
We understand that "one way of doing things" will
NOT work for every crowd, even if you do that "thing"
really well.
Standard
with all events is our excellent speaking skills. Your guests
will be motivated, entertained and most importantly hear
everything that we say. Unless directed otherwise, we do
not just stand and spin music. We are well accomplished
dancers and our enthusiastic style always affects guest
positively. We do not make ourselves the center of attention
(unless we are directed to do so) and we help guests to
let their guard down and have a good time. With choreographed
dance moves either behind or in front of our mixing table,
we provide a spark to any event. We also are the most approachable
DJs in the business and we listen to the guests. Again,
our level of energy is in direct proportion to the style
of the event, and no two events are the same for us. We
don't play the same songs to start things off at every party,
we always customize to the event to maximize our effectiveness.
Our
Work Ethic
Again, knowing how other DJs work I can assert this important
difference that helps set us apart from the pack. When planning
with Full Capacity DJs you will get exactly what you want.
I will not pressure you to fit a better schedule for us.
For example, with a wedding reception, you can order your
events any way you wish, no problem. You can even change
the events the night of the reception and that will not
be a problem for us. I know many DJs say "You Can't"
to many things. I can certainly guide you with many examples
of how to plan your event, but I will work with you to discuss
the best itinerary for you. Again, since no two events are
the same, it is good to be flexible.
Continuing
Education
Full Capacity DJs continually researches and implements
the best and new ways to effectively host the best events
possible. We have done research into the very important
area of song sets and when to play certain songs. For example,
two DJs can be given the same song lists and one can throw
a great party when the other one flops. The key is the order
in which the songs were played. Certain songs don't mix
well together and you can lose your entire dance floor.
We have developed a system of mixing songs to not only keep
people dancing, but entice more people to join them. This
is a most important aspect of being a good DJ, because if
you clear the dance floor, it is twice as hard to get them
back. We have never worked an event in 13 years where nobody
danced, however, I have been to many where that is the case.
Again, this is rarely thought about by a client, which is
why it is important that we think about it. Do the other
DJs? |
